H.E.L.P was founded by three high school students: Brad Golding, Tibor Kovacs and Teddy Nikolov. They describe themselves as three, regular high school students from Cambridge, Ontario with a passion for filmmaking and activism. They developed a non-profit organization called H.E.L.P. in their grade ten futures forum class almost two years ago.
H.E.L.P. is a project that uses a variety of methods to alleviate the issues of homelessness in the Waterloo Region. Essentially, they hand out packages to the homeless and have developed two mini-documentaries from their experiences that seek to break down the negative stereotypes that often surround these people. Their personal development process from the beginning of this project to the current day based on exposure to certain skills, experiences and classroom application opportunities is something they look to share with others. They believe that if students receive more prompting to connect the skills they learn in the classroom to the real world they will be more ready for the quickly changing workforce that exists today.
